FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: composition of aluminium borides as energy additive to mixed rocket propellants has formula composition boron:aluminium, equal 2-33:1, and the following characteristics: average particle size (d50) 1.5-4.5 mcm; bulk density (ρbulk) 0.6-0.8 g/cm3; temperature of burning (Tmax) 690-830°C. Method for obtaining composition of aluminium borides as energy additive to mixed rocket propellants includes mixing amorphous boron and aluminium in molar ratio equal 2-33:1, charge compaction, its synthesis in inert atmosphere with obtaining cake, including preliminary drying of charge in vacuum, cooling of obtained cake, its crushing and milling. Synthesis of charge is carried out in accordance with mode where first drying for not less than 0.5 hour is carried out, with further heating to temperature 450-650°C and exposure for not less than 0.5 hour, with further heating to temperature 800-1100°C at rate 5-20 degree/min and exposure for 4-12 hours, with cooling being carried out in inert gas flow, milling of crushed cake being performed in inert atmosphere in drum mill.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain compositions of aluminium borides with imperfect crystalline structure, which makes it possible to use it as energy additive to mixed rocket propellants.
