FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: initial framework titanosilicate Na3(Na,H)Ti2O2[Si2O6]2·2H2O is processed with 0.01-0.4 M hydrochloric acid solution for 0.5-2 hours to produce crystalline layered titanosilicate Ti2(OH)2[Si4O10(OH)2](H2O)2. Further, it is modified by processing with 0.001-0.01 M silver nitrate or caesium chloride solution for no more than 24 hours at pH 6-12 while stirring. A titanosilicate solid phase is separated by centrifugation, washed with deionised water at solid:liquid = 1:(3-5) and dried at temperature 70-100°C. Crystalline layered titanosilicate (Mem,H4-m)Ti2O2[Si2O6]2·nH2O is produced, wherein Me is silver or caesium, m = 0.1-1.0, n = 0.5-1.8.
EFFECT: invention enables producing intercalated framework caesium and silver titanosilicates having high recoverability and iodine sorption capacity.
