FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: radar space sounding method consists in radiation by N elements of transmitting array of signals with arbitrary amplitude A0n and the phase φ0n, their reception by M elements of the reception array, M = N, and their coherent summation, the signal is radiated to nth elements of the transmitting array at the frequency fn = f0+nΔf, where n = 1, …, N; f0 - minimum frequency; Δf - step by frequency, and coherent summation is performed according to the formula where Sm - result of coherent summation of output signals of reception array elements; A0nm, φ0nm - registered amplitude and phase of signal at the output of m-th element of the input array; kn - wave number; c - velocity of light.

EFFECT: increase of distance resolution of radar station due to coherent processing of signals with different frequency with keeping of consumed energy, power potential and simplicity of radar station design at the same level.
