FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a procedure of medical diagnostics by imaging. A method involves the stages that provide: recovering a two-dimensional feature set from a two-dimensional image; recovering a three-dimensional feature set from a three-dimensional image; creating a mathematical projection of the three-dimensional feature set into a two-dimensional projected feature set by the use of projection geometry principles; carrying out a first registration of the two-dimensional feature set and two-dimensional projected feature set and carrying out a second projection of a two-dimensional image and the mathematical projection of the three-dimensional image; in the method, the recovering procedures involves the stage of applying an angle detection algorithm to specify the features containing angular points from the two- or three-dimensional image by identifying locally characteristic maxima of an inertial matrix of an image gradient along a direction set and identifying a discrete set of concurrences of lines by reference to the locally characteristic maxima identified.
EFFECT: more accurate recording of two- or three-dimensional images.
