FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: to synthesise material of composition Sm1+xS, where 0≤x≤0.17, milled form Sm2S3 and Sm are taken in molar ratio (1+3x):1. Taken substances are mixed and briquetted, then exposed at temperature of solid phase reaction in vessel, filled with inert gas, for time t, which is larger or equal to value, calculated by formula nL2exp(m/T), where t is exposure time, s; T is temperature of solid phase reaction, K; L are maximal diametrical size of Sm2S3 powder particles, mcm; n is empirical coefficient, equal to 2·10-8 sec/mcm2; m is empiric coefficient, equal to 2.25·104 K.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify synthesis, reduce its duration, provide possibility of varying specified composition of material Sm1+xS and high degree of compliance of compositions of obtained and specified materials.
