SUBSTANCE: banknote recognition section of the device recognises unique information on a banknote transferred from an entrance window and a banknote storage section stores the entered banknotes. A transfer control section transfers a banknote directly into the banknote storage section. Upon detecting a return command for the entered banknote, the banknote is transferred from the banknote storage section into the banknote recognition section for comparing the unique information recognised during the first transfer with the unique information recognised during the second transfer from the banknote storage section into the banknote recognition section.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of verifying banknotes.
