SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication. Embodiments of the present invention provide a method of maintaining a time advance timer, a base station and terminal equipment. The method of maintaining a time advance timer comprises steps of: judging by a base station whether a band in which an uplink is to be adjusted includes only a band where a primary cell is located; and transmitting by the base station a time advance command to the band where the primary cell is located if the band where the primary cell is located is only included, such that the time advance timer to which the band where the primary cell is located corresponds is restarted.

EFFECT: by processing time advance timers by the base station or the terminal, the time advance timer to which the band where the PCell is located corresponds expires last, thereby preventing interruption of communication of the terminal due to advanced expiration of the time advance timer to which the band where the PCell is located corresponds.
