FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: associated water samples are taken from field wells upon separation of water-oil mixture. Natural uranium is extracted from the water sample in sufficient quantity for physical measurements. Radiochemical purification of natural uranium is performed from alpha-active isotopes of radium and thorium. Uranium is electrodeposited on a disc of stainless steel. The indicator is measured by alpha-spectrometry measurements - ratio of alpha activities γ=234U/238U. Lines of equal values of this indicator are plotted as per square area and section of water-bearing stratum. Spatial processes are determined for formation of associated water in result of interaction of different sources. Availability of deep water inflow is assessed together with deep-laid hydrocarbon fluids to limits of the productive interval and focals of their entry are identified.
EFFECT: improved efficiency in identification of focals of modern hydrocarbon fluids entry to limits of operated oil and gas deposits.
