FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to remove undesirable impurities in the form of gases and/or volatile compounds from water and aqueous solutions. The method is carried out by feeding liquid into a chamber; aerating the liquid in the chamber by injecting air and removing gases and/or volatile impurities released from the liquid from the chamber; the liquid fills part of the chamber, after which the liquid is moved through the chamber in recirculation mode; aeration of the liquid is carried out by the liquid fed into the chamber in recirculation mode falling on a surface on the volume of the liquid in the chamber; gases and/or volatile impurities are released from the water by blowing with air which is fed into the space of the chamber over the water. The method also includes further aeration of the water by raising part of its volume using an air-lift apparatus mounted in the chamber and enabling the raised water to fall on the surface of the volume of water in the chamber.
EFFECT: providing simple and efficient extraction of gases and/or volatile impurities from the entire volume of liquid water being treated.
