SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an image forming device, having a function for measuring the colour of a measured image. The image forming device includes an image forming unit configured to form a measured image on a sheet, a measurement unit configured to irradiate the measured image with light and measure light reflected from the measured image, a white reference plate configured to move to a first position opposite the measurement unit and to a second position, further from the measurement unit than the first position, a shielding unit configured to move to a third position, wherein the shielding unit blocks light emitted by the white reference plate to the measurement unit, and to a fourth position where the shielding unit does not block light, and a control unit configured to control the position of the white reference unit and the shielding unit. When the measurement block measures the white reference plate, the control unit moves the shielding unit to the fourth position and the white reference plate to the first position.

EFFECT: providing an image forming device configured to prevent decolouration of the white reference plate and prevent foreign matter, such as paper dust, from sticking onto the white reference plate, and also prevent constant increase in errors in measurement results caused by that, as the number of cycles of irradiating the white reference plate with light, the white reference plate undergoes gradually progressing decolouration which is induced by irradiation with light.
