SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of controlling border and checkpoints for authenticating documents and identifying owner identity. Technical solution comprises device for collection of biographical information from protected article; protective feature detector, comprising an optical detector for detecting the optical property of a security feature in the form of an image or graphic element on and/or in a protected article; and gate with possibility of movement between closed position and open position; wherein the collected biographical information and the detected optical property of the security feature on and/or in the protected article are processed to determine the authenticity of the article, and wherein the gates are configured to move from the closed position to the open position depending on the determination, wherein the security system control station further comprises a secure article receiving device and for collecting biographical information from the security article and the optical property of the security feature, wherein the receiving device has a reading support, the optical detector is located under the reading support to detect light emitted, reflected or transmitted from the protected article transmitted through the reading support.
