The proposed image generation device comprises an image generation unit, configured as capable of image generation on a printed carrier, a fixing unit, configured with the possibility to fix the image on a printed carrier, a transportation unit configured as capable of printed carrier transportation along a transportation track and variation of printed carrier transportation direction, which passes via the fixing unit, to a reverse one, a colour measurement unit configured as capable of measuring, after the fixing unit in direction of printed carrier transportation, the image colour fixed on the printed carrier, and a control unit configured as capable of controlling the transportation unit so that the time interval from the moment, when the edge of the printed carrier passes via the fixing unit, until the moment, when the specified edge of the printed carrier, transportation direction of which is changed to reverse, passes via the colour measurement unit measurement position, in case when the colour measurement unit measures the image colour fixed on the printed carrier, was more than the time interval from the moment, when the edge of the printed carrier passes via the fixing unit, until the moment, when the specified edge of the printed carrier, the transportation direction of which is changed to reverse, passes via the colour measurement unit measurement position, in case, when the colour measurement unit does not measure the colour of the image fixed on the printed carrier.

EFFECT: provision of an image generation device, capable of achieving high-accuracy matching of colours and colour stability.
