SUBSTANCE: invention relates to all-wheel drive vehicles. Method of control over mechanical coupling of the vehicle transmission two axles. First axle is driven on default. Second axle is driven optionally subject to operating conditions of the coupling. This process comprises the step of PD control over slippage between first and second axles. Said control is effected by outputting the instruction for variation of torque transmitted by the clutch. Slippage is calculated continuously. Preset magnitude of slippage is defined to use the difference between calculate slippage and preset one to calculate the transmitted torque. Besides, this invention relates to maintenance of transmission operation and control over transmission axles coupling means effected in compliance with this invention.
