FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control over vehicle transmission. In compliance with claimed method, the first axle is revolved on default while second axle is driven optionally subject to coupling means conditions. Note here that transmission system runs in the first off-the-road mode whereat the torque transmitted by the first coupling is fixed or at the second automatic mode whereat the torque varies. Note here that braking force caused by parking brake deactivates the engagement means if the vehicle speed is higher than the first threshold and unless the vehicle speed is higher than said threshold in the first and second modes. Second threshold is lower than the first one.

EFFECT: better breakaway, braking and dynamic stability characteristics.
