FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: high-voltage photosensitive device of proximity type consists of vacuum sealed body, entrance gate with photocathode and anode approximated to it, with insulator and respective contact rings intended for power supply between photocathode and anode. A contact ring of the photocathode is placed between lateral side of the insulator and lateral side of the entrance gate; outer surface of the insulator is ribbed while its inner surface is made with stepped ledges inward the body in order to increase surface area of the insulator.
EFFECT: provided electrical strength and increased breakdown voltage of the device without essential increase in its body dimensions.
