FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to magnetrons. A cathode of a magnetron, comprising a radial extension for placement of cathode terminals 6, 7, rests onto considerably shorter support holders 3, 4, since these holders are fixed in the end wall 18 of the radial extension, which is located closer to the cathode end of the radial extension than to the other end. This shifts any vibrations to a band of higher frequencies, where their occurrence is less probable in that case, if the magnetron quickly moves, as in a linear accelerator, used for radiation therapy.
EFFECT: reduced vibrations.
