FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-frequency ion engines (HFIE) with inductive excitation of discharge in gas-discharge chamber. Gas-discharge unit of HFIE includes gas-discharge chamber (1) made of electrotechnical corundum. Chamber (1) comprises section in form of segment of sphere, located on the branch pipe (2) side for supply of working gas, and interfaced with it cylindrical section arranged on side of attachment of electrodes of ion optical system (3). Inductor (4) is made in form of spiral, enveloping outer surface of chamber. Inductor spiral is formed by copper tube. Tubular current leads (5 and 6) of inductor spiral are connected to HF generator. On external surface of chamber there are four projections (7), arranged in symmetry about chamber axis of symmetry. On surface of projections (7) there is metalized coating. Inductor spiral coils (4) are connected to external surface of chamber by soldering in points of contact with metallised surfaces of projections (7). Emission and accelerating perforated electrodes (8 and 9) are made from alloy of molybdenum and are connected with metallised contact surfaces of chamber (1) and intermediate insulators (11 and 12) by soldering.

EFFECT: higher reliability and resource HFIE, wherein overall dimensions and weight of gas-discharge unit and HFIE as a whole are reduced.
