FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in fuel supply systems of internal combustion engines (ICE). The method of fuel system operation is proposed. The method includes a stage, when they serially blow vapours of fuel from each of multiple areas of the tank for accumulation of fuel vapours. Blowdown of the area includes stages, when they open an air inlet valve connected to this area, and hold the values of air inlet related to every other area, closed, in order to forward vapours of fuel at least into one blowdown outlet hole. Also a fuel system is proposed for realisation of the proposed method, comprising a tank for accumulation of fuel vapours, having several inlet holes, connected to several areas of the tank, and at least one blowdown hole.

EFFECT: reduction of time, and also increased intensity and quality of blowdown of a fuel vapour accumulation tank.
