FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: stream of microparticles is focused at the output of an accelerator due to the modified surface configuration of the rotor and the stator. The rotor 1 is in the form of a straight, circular truncated cone. When the rotor 1 rotates inside a movable stator 2, analysed samples (liquid or gas) enter inlet windows and through helical grooves formed by stator 2 and rotor 4 grooves. Local gaps formed between stator and rotor teeth will linearly and continuously shift with acceleration from the beginning of the stator and the rotor to the end. The movement of the microparticles will be generated by two forces. The first force is generated by the auger effect, where particles in the grooves will move along the grooves. The second force is generated through centrifugal forces which make the particles fall into the gap between the rotor and stator teeth in the zone where the teeth overlap and end up in a gravitational trap.
EFFECT: high efficiency and low consumption of analysed samples.
