FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: systems and methods are proposed to determine a property, for instance, density of a geological formation on the basis of the Einstein gravity theory. The difference of gravity potential is determined between two positions of the geological formation with the help of measurement of frequency shift in radioactive radiation passing from the source to an absorber of the differential gravimeter. The differential gravimeter may be a part of a well instrument. The detected difference of gravity potential may be used to determine the property of a geological formation.

EFFECT: provision of the possibility to detect density of a geological formation in process of drilling under conditions of high temperatures, pressures, impact loads and vibration.
