FIELD: motor car construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control over the vehicle ICE exhaust gas neutralization subsystem. In compliance with claimed process, diagnostics unit tests the subsystem at vehicle motion cycles for detection of a system fault. Said test is performed for both detection of origination and elimination of said fault. Said diagnostics unit is used to evaluate the unauthorized intrusion proceeding from the frequency of system fault origination and elimination detection so that occurrence of unauthorized intrusion in subsystem is defined. Note here that at detection of system fault origination and its unidentified elimination, limiting operating mode is activated or activated limiting operating mode is kept running whereat vehicle operation is confined after the elapse of preset number of motion cycles before or after the preset haul.
EFFECT: higher reliability of identification of wrongful manipulations of the system.
