FIELD: internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to recirculation in an internal combustion engine. Essence of inventions consists in the fact that there are provided methods and system for determination of changes of passage section of exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR) as a result of change of temperature difference between rod and body of EGR valve for evaluation of flow of EGR. In one example, the method includes controlling the EGR valve based on the EGR flow estimate, wherein the EGR flow is evaluated based on the pressure difference on the EGR valve and the adjusted flow section of the valve. Adjusted flow section of the valve can be determined by temperature difference between rod and EGR valve body.

EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of controlling recirculation value.
