FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: testing for input parameter change due to properties of surface and volume structure, formed during manufacturing of carbide cutting material, reference wear tests during cutting of the materials resulting in intensive diffusion wear at optimal or close to it cutting speed, plotting of the reference - correlation relationship "wear resistance - input parameter", statistic monitoring of only input parameter of the current batch of the carbide cutting tools and forecast of wear resistance for current batch of the carbide cutting tools based on the relationship. As the input parameter the value of area of hysteresis loop obtained during measurement of the elongation and further shortening of the carbide sample is used, respectively during heating and further cooling, with its decreasing the wear resistance of the carbide cutting tools of applicability group P increases.
EFFECT: higher accuracy and lower labour input of forecast of wear resistance of carbide cutting tools.
