FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: tests for change of the initial parameter due to properties of the surface and subsurface structure created during manufacturing of hard alloy cutting material. Reference wear resistance tests are performed during cutting of the materials resulting in the intensive diffusion wear and tear under optimal or close to optimal cutting speed. The reference correlation curve "wear resistance - initial parameter" is plotted. Statistical monitoring of the initial parameter value for the current batch of hard alloy cutting tools is performed. Forecast of the wear resistance for the current batch of hard alloy cutting tools is performed based on the curve. The hydrogen concentration in surface and subsurface structure of the hard alloy is used as the initial parameter, with concentration increasing the wear resistance of the hard alloy cutting tools of application group P also increases.
EFFECT: increased accuracy and reduced labour intensity during forecast of the wear resistance of the hard alloy cutting tools.
