FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: set of invention relates to unit (1) for continuous production of foamed granulated plastic (G) and method of it′s production with the help of said unit (1). Claimed unit (1) comprises source (2) for making of plastic melt (F), device (3) to produce impregnated plastic melt (FB) by impregnation of plastic melt (F) by foaming agent (B) fed from the foaming agent source and pelletiser (4, 41, 42) to make granulated material (G) from impregnated plastic melt (FB) with the use of pelletiser (4, 41, 42). Note here that the latter is communicated via the fluid with the impregnating device (3). The unit incorporates the changeover appliance (5) to feed the plastic melt to said pelletiser (4, 41, 42) bypassing the pelletiser (3). Claimed process exploits the claimed unit.
