SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and concerns a targeted drug delivery. Improving the therapeutic compound penetration through a cell layer comprising epithelial cells requires using a microneedle. A microneedle surface comprises a number of nanostructures formed on this surface and arranged as a pre-formed pattern. At least a part of nanostructures has a cross-section size of less than approximately 500 nanometres and more than approximately 5 nanometres.
EFFECT: method provides improving the therapeutic compound penetration through the epithelium by increasing an area of needle and tissue contact, as well as by changing the structure of an intercellular junction.
