SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Application describes an apparatus and method for delivering a drug in rheumatoid arthritis through the dermal barrier, and a method of manufacturing the device. Apparatus includes microneedles for penetrating the stratum corneum and also includes structures made on the surface of the microneedles for forming nanotopography. Can be made arbitrary or ordered pattern of structures such as sophisticated pattern comprising structures of different sizes and/or shapes. Pattern of the structures on the surface of the microneedles can include nano-sized structures.
EFFECT: group of inventions can improve the maintenance of the level of activity delivered medications.
