FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of vacuum-arc application of coating from catalytically active material on substrate and to substrate, thereof obtained. Deposition of material on one or more sides of substrate is realised under conditions of vacuum in vacuum chamber. Substrate is preliminarily cleaned by introduction of gaseous reducing agent into vacuum chamber. Intermediate layer of catalytically active material which is the same as substrate material or similar to it is applied on substrate. Temperature 150°C-400°C is set in vacuum chamber. After that, vacuum-arc application of coating from at least one metal, selected from group, containing ruthenium, iridium, titanium and their mixture, is realised with supply of oxygen in the process of coating application. Coating, at least 99% of which do not contain components, initially contained in substrate, with at least 99% of coating, applied on intermediate layer non-containing unoxidised metals, is obtained. At the last stage substrate with applied coating is removed from vacuum chamber.
EFFECT: increase of coating quality.
