FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser cutting of the fragile translucent non-metals, for example, the glass, and can be used in glass production, aircraft and motor car engineering. It consists in that the material to be separated is subjected to two beams of poorly-absorbable laser radiation (direct radiation and that reflected from the mirror located under said material) directed to the processed object at the angle at 0.5-20 degrees. This makes the cut cross-section a zigzag line inscribed in the semi-circle at controlled laser thermal splitting.
EFFECT: cutting to convex or concave end cross-section shape without sharp edges.
