FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser cutting of articles from brittle non-metallic materials partially absorbing laser radiation, and can be used in aviation, space, automotive and other industries for cutting large-sized flat and curved glass products of complex shape. In the method of laser cutting products with technological allowance from brittle non-metallic materials, for example glass ones, the allowance is separated by a laser beam, followed by periodic shortening of the separated stock without stopping the cutting process by moving the laser beam from the edge of the allowance to the cutting line. Periodic shortening of the separated stock is carried out by a focused laser beam passing through the article and directed to the separated allowance from the opposite surface of the article. Device includes a laser radiation source, a focusing system and a laser beam spatial control device that guides the laser beam to the surface of the article to separate the allowance and then periodically shorten it. Apparatus further comprises a laser beam control unit that has passed through the article, including a fastening member, an objective and a wrapping system. Device for controlling the spatial arrangement of the laser beam is arranged to move the transmitted laser beam along the separated supply from its edge to the cutting line from the opposite surface of the article.

EFFECT: technical result achieved by the present invention is expressed in obtaining the end of the article with no defects.
