FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: nanodispersed tantalates of rare-earth elements are obtained by preparing a precursor containing compounds of tantalum and a rare-earth element - europium or terbium, and performing heat treatment thereof. The precursor is prepared using the extracts containing the said elements in the organic solvents, which are mixed in the molar ratio of tantalum to europium or terbium of 7:1. The tantalum extract is prepared via extraction thereof with a benzene solution of trialkylbenzylammonium sulphate from a tantalum sulphate-oxalate aqueous solution. The europium or terbium extracts are prepared by extraction thereof with a benzene solution containing acetyl acetone and phenanthroline from aqueous europium or terbium nitrate solutions. Heat treatment of the precursor is carried out at 880-900°C.

EFFECT: invention enables to cut the duration of heat treatment, reduces the temperature thereof and enables to obtain nanosize tantalates of rare-earth elements with the particle size of 50-100 nm without an additional grinding step.
