FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology. Claimed is method of obtaining fatty acids for pharmacological and food purpose and their derivatives of general formula (I):

Supply of CO2-containing gas into reactor, containing at least one type of photosynthesising microalgae, capable of photosynthesis with production of biomass, containing compounds (I), is realised. From 5 to 100% of culture are removed from reactor with its further separation into solid fraction, which contains biomass, and liquid phase fraction, which contains carbonates and/or bicarbonates. Compounds (I) are extracted from biomass. Obtained compounds (I) are concentrated and, if necessary, purified. Carbonates and bicarbonates are separated from liquid fraction. After that, liquid fraction is returned, at least partially, to reactor.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to eliminate loss of CO2, bubbled into system, and increase its absorption by algae.
