FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine with electric drives. The method for electrical reduction of rated value for the unit of resistor moderating blocks of the machine contains the stages whereat: temperature is defined for resistive elements and insulators related to the unit of resistor moderating blocks; trigger signal is generated when temperature of resistive elements and insulators exceeds the respective temperature threshold. Then rated value reduction used in transmission related to the machine is defined in response to the trigger signal. The above value is based on feedback analysis and predictive analysis of temperature for resistive elements and insulators. The above value corresponds to reduced value of transmission moderation. The system used for implementation of the above method comprises inverter circuit to transfer power between transmission and unit of resistor moderating blocks and controller related to the inverter circuit. The controller regulates power value, generates trigger signal and defines reduction of the rated value.

EFFECT: reduced overheating of moderating blocks.
