FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine. A method for determining an instrument depth in an anatomical area is implemented by means of an X-ray device. That involves generating one X-ray projection image of the instrument in the anatomical area. A size of the instrument segment in the anatomical area is assessed. A difference between optional positions of the instrument segment in the anatomical area is identified on the basis of the assessed size and by segmenting the anatomical area. The X-ray device comprises a source and an X-ray detector, a processor unit to control the source and X-ray detector, as well as a set of commands to determine the instrument depth in the anatomical area in accordance with the above method.
EFFECT: using the inventions is expected to provide the more accurate determination of the intervention instrument depth inside the patient's body.
