FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: use: to assess speed of transverse wave. The substance of the invention consists in the fact that the weighted average position in time is calculated on the basis of measurements of transverse wave shift along the propagation path. Weighting is carried out, for example, by shift observed at the moments of time (230), meeting the measurements, and it complies with time of transverse wave arrival into the point of transverse wave propagation trajectory complying with measurements. In certain versions of realisation the calculated times of transverse waves arrivals to appropriate points are functionally connected to available distances between locations, which makes it possible to calculate the group speed of transverse waves. The produced speed may be used as input data in available logics of elasticity assessment during medium shift, such as body tissue, for the purposes of clinical diagnosis and therapeutic assessment.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of transverse wave speed detection.
