ULTRAHIGH ALTITUDE SUN SYNCHRONOUS ORBIT SATELLITE SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC B64G1/10

Abstract RU 2576643 C2

FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the satellite systems which provide consumers with a range of services (astronomical, global communication and monitoring). The satellite system comprises one or more satellites (3) at an ultrahigh altitude (several millions of kilometres) sun-synchronous orbit relative to the Earth (4). The said orbit is achieved by moving the satellite (3) on an orbit (2) around the Sun (5). The orbit (2) has a period close to one year and a certain ratio of the value of the inclination to the ecliptic plane (1) and the eccentricity (specifically 1.73). Satellites can be taken to the said orbit while saving fuel due to the use of perturbations of the Earth gravitational field.

EFFECT: achieving more favourable conditions for satellite systems to realise and broaden their functions compared to satellite systems at lower altitude sun-synchronous orbits.
