FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to prenatal diagnostics, and can be used for quantitative estimation of functional capacity reduction in abnormally developed kidney judging by intensity of compensatory hypertrophy of a healthy kidney. During ultrasonic examination of the foetus length, width and thickness of the hypertrophied healthy kidney are measured. Indicator of renal dysfunction (RDI) in percentage is calculated by formula: at 22 - 27 week of pregnancy RDI=[0.5×(L×T×W):(0.0217×C2-0.4366×C+1.8)-1.0]:0.24×100; from 28 week of pregnancy RDI=[0.5×(L×T×W):(0.0217×C2-0.4366×C+1.8)-1.0]:[(0.26×C+4.96):10.0-1.0]×100, where C is pregnancy period (weeks) and L, T, W - are length, thickness and width of the kidney (cm). When RDI exceeding 100% is means 100% renal dysfunction. Negative resulting value means normal function of abnormally developed kidney.
EFFECT: method enables assessing the function of pathologically changed kidney of foetus by determining the manifestation of compensatory hypertrophy of healthy kidney.
