FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aircraft engineering, particularly, to aircraft with flapping wings. Ornithopter comprises a body with hinged wings and power plant to drive said wings, which is rigidly attached to body cylinder with piston and rod and two brace wings. Struts are pivotally connected each with its wing and cylinder with rod. Body of ornithopter is fitted with possibility of rotation of bushing, inside of which is placed with a gap allowing their relative sliding and rotation, vertical axis. Axis is aligned with rod coupled therewith and has two wings plane which are located opposite to each other. Two wings are mounted on vertical axis with possibility of rotation around it and oscillations in vertical plane, as well as struts are articulated with bushing.
EFFECT: possibility to take-off with limited-size sites.
