SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in system for engine diagnostics that controls the internal combustion engine (ICE). According to the invention, microcomputer (21) in the first procedure (R2) of monitoring determines whether required amount of fuel injection is calculated normally or not by the control module ICE in the procedure (R1) of fuel amount injection control in accordance with the required amount of fuel injection calculated in the procedure (R1) control the amount of fuel injection, and specific values of the operating mode of the internal combustion engine used for calculating the required injection amount, and the second procedure (R3) monitoring determines whether normal or not actuated injector (14) based on the required injection amount in accordance with the desired injection volume computed in the procedure (R1) control the amount of fuel injection, and the result of measurements of the application of the excitation current of the injector.

EFFECT: proposed are an apparatus and method for monitoring the serviceability of ICE control module.
