FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, particularly to ophthalmology, and can be used to determine state of cornea after operation performed therein. Method comprises after operations on cornea for observation periods of 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months diagnosing corneal state. Method includes determining degree of severity of stromal oedema, condition of epithelial layer based on degree of severity of epitelium both in basal and in surface layer of pterygoid cells, changing stroma cellular structure, estimated by amount of "active" keratocytes with bright, hyper-reflecting nuclei. Evaluation of said parameters is carried out on a 4-point scale. If one of determined values exceeds a score of 2, complicated course of early postoperative period is determined.

EFFECT: method enables to diagnose state of cornea after operations in a timely manner to adjust treatment of a patient by identifying by confocal microscopy of most significant indicators of quality of cornea, as well as quantitative criteria to identify best of said indicators.
