FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to method and device for production of small-sized atomic cells with vapours of alkali metal atoms and can be used in making quantum devices for various applications. Glass housing of cell is manufactured. In one of non-working walls of each cell is made through axially symmetric hole with diameter increasing in direction from inner surface of cell to outside. Cell is placed in vacuum chamber in seats of carousel hole upwards and pumping of chamber, thermal treatment and degassing of cells is performed. After switching off of heating and cooling to room temperature cells, ampoule with alkaline metal is opened, batcher with heated to 230-250°C ampoule fed to cell, nozzle of ampoule in hole of cell, with simultaneously cooling cells. Turned carousel cells, directing nozzle ampoule in hole of next cell. After filling of all cells, ampoules heating is switched off and put all cells, located in chamber with mixture of working gases. Sealing cells is carried out by mounting in hole of each of glass ball with diameter larger than of smaller diameter holes, but less than thickness of walls of cell, and ball is exposed to its centre of radiation beam CO2-laser with diameter exceeding that of ball to fusion of ball and its welding to wall of cell.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain miniature cells which provide high operational properties of equipment, as well as saving expensive isotope of alkaline metal and working gases due to dosed filling of cells and reduction of working chamber volume.
