FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to small-size atomic cells and can be used in making quantum devices of various applications. Atomic cell contains a cylindrical glass body. Cylindrical wall of small-sized atomic cell contains alkali metal charging hole shifted to one of working ends, and for filling of buffer gases small-sized atomic cell contains the second hole, diameter of which is less than diameter of the first hole. Diameters of holes are selected so that under the effect of CO2 radiation holes are self-tightened. Technical problem of the proposed invention is harmful substances penetration into the cell volume during its sealing.
EFFECT: high quality and reproducibility of cell characteristics.
