FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to physics of atmosphere and atmospheric electricity and can be used for detecting coherent turbulent atmosphere surface structures and determination of their spatial-time scale. Synchronous recording of signals is aero-electrical turbulent fluctuations in several points spaced apart in line at fixed distance, with given time resolution above Earth surface at fixed height. Horizontal air flow rate is measured with subsequent determination of its average value during the measurement. Constructing a structural function aero-electrical turbulent fluctuations and its curve approximation. Detecting coherent turbulent structure of surface of atmosphere by presence of constant level structure function. Time interval is measured signal registration aero-electrical turbulent fluctuations corresponding coherent turbulent structures of surface of atmosphere. Determining height of coherent turbulent atmosphere surface structures on horizontal coordinate of point of intersection of level of permanent values and curve approximation averaged structure function. Determining width of coherent turbulent structures of surface of the atmosphere as product of the average value of horizontal air flow rate at the time interval signal registration aero-electrical turbulent pulsations.
EFFECT: technical result is upgraded accuracy of determination of coherent turbulent structures atmospheric boundary layer.
