FIELD: environmental protection; chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to purification of natural, recycled and waste water. Method comprises oxidation of 4-aminobenzenesulphonamide with hydrogen peroxide in presence of Fe/Cu/Al-catalyst - montmorillonite intercalated mixed polyhydroxocomplexes of Fe, Cu and Al. Composition of polyhydroxocomplexes of Fe, Cu and Al is determined by composition of intercalating solution which is prepared by alkaline hydrolysis of an aqueous solution of a mixture of cations of Fe, Cu and Al in a molar ratio of metal Fe/Cu/Al equal, respectively, to 3/7/100 and a molar ratio [OH]/[Fe+Cu+Al] is 2.0. Preferably, oxidation of 4-aminobenzenesulphonamide is carried out at pH 3.0-4.0, wherein hydrogen peroxide is employed in an amount of 100% of stoichiometric amount required for complete oxidation of 4-aminobenzenesulphonamide.

EFFECT: invention provides a cheap, easy to implement and environmentally friendly method of cleaning contaminated water containing 4-aminobenzenesulphonamide, with a decrease in specific consumption of oxidant and high degree of purification.
