SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the ICE exhaust system silencer. Claimed silencer comprises the case (2) with peripheral shell (3) closed in circumferential direction (5). End bottom (6) is arranged at two lengthwise ends spaced apart axially. It comprises the silencer insert (15) arranged in the case (2) and provided with at least one waste gas intake pipe (8) and at least one waste gas discharge pipe (10). Shell (3) is segmented in peripheral direction (5) and comprises at least one shell segment (11, 12). Said shell comprises at least one bore (7, 9) to house at least one pipe (8, 10). The compact design results if said segmented shell (3) has at least one shell inlet segment (11) and at least one discharge element (12), is the shell inlet element (11) has at least one inlet bore (7) to house inlet pipe (8), and if the shell discharge segment (12) has at least one discharge bore (9) to house the discharge pipe (10).

EFFECT: simplified fabrication, compact arrangement in the exhaust gas system.
