SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing high-capacity composite material based on activated carbon fibre material and nickel hydroxide used in chemical current sources, in particular, in supercapacitors and accumulators. Activated carbon material is subjected to anodic polarisation in electrochemical installation with separation of anode and cathode chambers at overall anode current density 10-150 A/m2 and flow through anode chamber of a solution containing colloidal particles of nickel hydroxide with concentration of 0.005-0.01 M to form nickel hydroxide residue, mass fraction of which in composite is 22-35%.

EFFECT: high specific capacity of electrode material, value of specific capacity can be 370-400 F/g, measured at a rate of potential sweep 2 mV/s.
