SUBSTANCE: what is presented is a composition containing an antibacterial effective amount of a compound of formula , wherein the above compound is presented in the concentration from approximately 0.001 wt % to approximately 10 wt %; and an orally acceptable carrier. The oral care composition is specified in a group consisting of a toothpaste, gel, mousse, powder, confection, strip, oral spray and dental elixir. There are also presented methods involving a contact of an individual's oral surface and the above composition, namely a method for inhibiting the bacterial growth in the oral cavity, a method for inhibiting dental plaque and calculus deposit formation on the dental surface, a method for treating or preventing an oral condition, such as gingival inflammation, periodontal disease, bad breath, or a combination of two or more of the above.

EFFECT: using the above compound additionally provides the anti-inflammatory effect.
