FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and aims at predicting the level of intraocular pressure in Russian individuals being natives of Central Black Earth Region of Russia, patients with primary open-angle glaucoma. DNA is recovered from peripheral venous blood with further analysis of polymorphisms of genes. If observing the genotype -308GG TNFα in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma, a higher intraocular pressure level is predicted. In the presence of genotypes +250AA Ltα, or +250AG Ltα, or +1663AG TNFR2, or +1663GG TNFR2 higher levels of intraocular pressure are predicted.
EFFECT: invention provides effective prediction of intraocular pressure level, which enables to define a risk group in order to correct therapeutic approach to patient with primary open-angle glaucoma depending on genetic variants -308G/A TNFα, +250A/G Ltα, + 1663A/G TNFR2 allele.
