SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical diagnostics and aims at predicting risk of developing primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). In Russian individuals that are natives of Central Chernozem Region of Russia, DNA is extracted from peripheral venous blood, followed by analysis of gene polymorphisms TNFα, Ltα, TNFR1 and TNFR2. Among individuals without comorbidity of eye upon observing a combination -308G TNFα and +1663G TNFR2 or a combination +36G TNFR1 and +1663G TNFR2 or upon observing comorbidity of eyes as myopia, cataract or age-related macular degeneration of retina upon detecting +36A TNFR1 or a combination +36AA TNFR1 and +1663A TNFR2 or +250G Ltα and +36AA TNFR1 a high risk of POAG is predicted. In individuals with comorbidity of eyes when observing +250A Ltα and +36G TNFR1 or -308G TNFα and +36G TNFR1 predicting low risk of POAG.

EFFECT: invention provides early detection of patients with POAG, thus preventing progression of disease.
