FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lithium-containing glass with high content of oxidised iron. Glass contains the following components, wt%: SiO2 60-63; Na2O 10-12; Li2O 4-5.5; Al2O3 17-19; ZrO2 3.5-5; Al2O3+ZrO2 21.5-24; FeO 0.0005-0.015; Fe2O3 (total iron) 50-1200 ppm and an oxidising agent selected from a group comprising cerium oxide in the amount of more than 0-0.50 wt%, manganese oxide in the amount of more than 0-0.75 wt%, and mixtures thereof. Method for replacement the process of lithium glass manufacturing with high absorption in the infrared area with FeO content in an the amount of 0.02-0.04 wt% and redox ratio in the range of 0.2-0.4 by the process of producing lithium glass with low absorption in the infrared area by adding additional oxidants - CeO2 and MnO2 to materials of charge stock. Second method consists in replacement of the process of producing of lithium glass with low absorption in the infrared area by the process of producing lithium glass with high absorption in the infrared area by addition of additional conditioners to materials of charge stock.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention consists in reduction of time of transition from the production cycle of producing glass with high absorption in the infrared area to the production cycle of producing glass with low absorption in infrared area or vice versa.
